What kinds of fibers are in your yarns? Because of our selection of yarn suppliers, we carry mostly natural fibers at Nestucca Bay Yarns. From Merino Wool, Wool, Alpaca, Cashmere, Cotton, Linen, Silk, Bamboo and some man-made fibers from natural products such as Lenpur and Viscose which are both produced from tree bark, the Lenpur is sustainably grown and harvested.
One of our Rowan knitting yarn products, Cashsoft Dk as well as Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino have Micro Fibre which is a type of acrylic man made yarn. The Micro Fibre is of the highest quality manmade fiber and the addition of Cashmere and Merino make both of these yarns very lustrous, soft and wonderful.
Do you have Machine Washable Yarns? Yes we do. If you look in the description one of the yarns you will see that it will give you the care instructions. "Superwash" means that the yarn is machine washable. Here is a list of a few "Superwash" yarns: Cascade 220 Superwash, Cascade Greenland, Louet Gems, Opal Sock Yarns, Felted Tweed Aran and DK weights, Debbie Bliss Babycashmerino, RYC Cashsoft DK, our own handpainted colorways in the 'Kelp', 'Seaweed' and 'Frothy' Yarns, most of our sock yarns and Rowan Wool Cotton knitting yarn.
We also carry spinning fiber and will be adding it to the site very soon.
Hours of operation: Monday - Thursday 10-5:30pm Friday and Saturday 10-6pm Closed Sunday - Friday night 'Knit-In' 5-7pm, free get together to share ideas and knit. All Welcome!
How do I know if something is in stock or not?: We have real-time inventory updating on our site so you will know if what you are ordering is in stock or not.
Can I order something that says "Back-ordered"?: You can still place an order for items that say "back-ordered" if you don't mind waiting for the items to come in. Under normal circumstances we can ship most back-ordered items within 7-10 days, in the event that the item is backordered with the distributor we will contact you immediately to let you know what the time frame will be, at that time you will have the option to cancel the order and receive a full immediate refund or wait for the item to come in, if you wish. Back-ordered Crystal Palace, Jamieson's Shetland and Skacel items can usually be shipped within 2-3 days.
Is this site safe to order from? Yes, our site has an SSL certificate and all credit card transactions are fully encrypted. We use Authorize.net for our credit card processor. Authorize.net is the most reputable and largest credit card processor on the market. You will notice the lock on the right of your address bar which indicates that you have a secure connection.
Do you accept PayPal payments? Yes we do, you will see the PayPal logo at the bottom of your page and you will be given that option upon check out, if you are ordering International and your credit card isn't working Paypal would be your best option. You don't have to have a Paypal account any longer to pay with Paypal.
Can I order over the phone if I prefer? Yes you can, feel free to call our toll free number: 877-401-1528 and one of our associates will gladly take your order and help you with any questions you might have.
How can I receive and redeem my frequent buyer points online?: We track your purchases and check your points each time you purchase, when you receive your order you should also receive a flyer with your updated points. If you are at or above $250.00 in points you will receive a store credit of $25.00 that can be used on the website with your next order. You have to set up an account in our webstore in order to qualify for our frequent buyer rewards. Guest orders do not track sales.
